EXCITING NEWS! We are bringing you the opportunity to Rock with the culture of Indigenous Australia.
We are pleased to announce a partnership with the incredibly talented Indigenous Australian duo ‘Apakatjah’ to create a special interactive musical workshop for conference and incentive groups seeking an insight into the unique culture and music of Indigenous Australia.
This new workshop, featuring stirring harmonies and traditional instruments, is available for meetings, incentives and special events being held in the Northern Territory, or anywhere in Australia.
The workshop is led by Grammy nominated songwriter and the most recent singer of INXS, Ciaran Gribbin, who will be accompanied by Apakatjah (pronounced Uppa-Cut-Ja) duo Dion Forrester and Jonathan Lindsay-Tjapaltjarri Hermawan. Dion and Jonathan blend their cultural influences from Aboriginal Australia into the workshop and will perform their hit single Waru.
Amongst elements such as choir and rockstar performances this new workshop will feature an array of authentic Australian rock n’ roll music from bands such as INXS, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, Yothu Yindi and the Warrumpi Band. In addition to the construction of an original song, using the theme of the event as the title, an interactive percussion session utilising the Aboriginal instrument ‘clap sticks’ will have all audience members working together to provide rhythmic accompaniment for legendary songs from Yothu Yindi and the Warrumpi Band.
We are very impressed with Apakatjah's talent and see this new workshop as an opportunity for our clients to incorporate the stirring sounds of Indigenous Australian music into a fun interactive music experience which can be transported anywhere around Australia.
“I’m particularly excited about bringing the authentic sounds of Indigenous Australian rock music to a wider audience and to supporting fellow original artists such as Apakatjah. To have Dion and Jonathan join me on stage is a real honour.” Ciaran Gribbin
'Rock the Bridge' is an innovative new team building package which will show the corporate world how to rock on the Sydney Harbour Bridge!
This powerhouse MICE offering was recently launched to a VIP group of event planners. Read about it here in the MiceNet Magazine June edition.
This experience combines authentic rock music, an international bucket list activity and gourmet F&B offerings from three revered team building and entertainment Sydney brands:
Rock and Roll Team Building, fronted by Grammy nominated songwriter Gribbin
BridgeClimb Sydney, award winning tourism attraction operating on the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Shangri-La Hotel, one of Sydney's finest luxury hotels.
Participants begin the experience with light refreshments in BridgeClimb’s private cinema, accompanied by high energy live music from the Rock and Roll Team Building band, motivational video messages optional.
Directed by Ciaran Gribbin, Rock and Roll Team Building then take groups through brainstorming, composition, harmonisation and rehearsal of an original song, incorporating conference and/or company themes.
Once warmed up, groups journey along the arches of the coat hanger to a vantage point 134 metres above the harbour for unparalleled, 360 degree views of Sydney.
During the ascent, rock anthems play through headsets, alternating with BridgeClimb’s historical and contemporary commentary on the building of the Bridge and Sydney surrounds.
After a summit celebration, Ciaran Gribbin with his acoustic guitar, leads groups through a performance of their original song on a stage like no other; the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge!
Then it's onto Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney’s ‘Blu Bar on 36’ which is a short walk from the climb’s conclusion. Sydney’s signature destination bar on level 36 hosts climbers as they toast the day’s accomplishments, with drinks and canapés, to breathtaking views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House - fit for a rock star.
All elements of the high energy event, an original twist on traditional team building models, can be captured by Shane O'Neill of O'Neill Photographics.
This is a great experience for incentive travel reward programs, conference activities, team recognition events and Christmas parties.
If you're looking for an inspiring and engaging speaker for your next corporate event then look no further than Ciaran Gribbin!
From the war-torn streets of Northern Ireland to reaching the pinnacle of pop music as the lead singer of INXS, Australian-based Ciaran Gribbin is now finding favour as a keynote conference speaker with an inspirational story to tell.
His journey from a young boy growing up in a bitterly divided society in Northern Ireland, to falling in love with a girl from the wrong side of the conflict, and then following his dream to make it in the cut-throat music world is a captivating story and one that is now capturing the attention of corporate meeting planners.
With thousands of local pub gigs under his belt but very little to show for it, Ciaran was about to give it all away when a chance meeting led to him writing a Grammy-nominated song for Madonna. Shortly after, a brush with INXS’s Andrew Farriss turned his career around and a tour fronting INXS followed. The year 2015 ended with an Oscar shortlist nomination for the song Hey Baby Doll which was sung by Al Pacino in the critically-acclaimed movie Danny Collins.
Ciaran’s is a unique story about how patience, self-belief, persistence and determination made his musical dreams a reality. His keynote is sprinkled with acoustic songs - including some of INXS’s greatest hits - which makes his presentation even more memorable and intimate.
